Halal, Wudhu & The Science Behind Our Foundation

We believe you deserve transparency—not just claims. Learn about our halal certification, laboratory testing, water-vapor permeability, and what our test results mean for your makeup routine.

Is Candy Shop Cosmetics foundation halal certified?

Yes. All our products including our Wudhu Friendly Foundation is lab tested and halal certified by the Halal Certification Services of Canada. The certification covers both ingredients and function for the purposes of performing wudhu.

What makes your foundation wudhu-friendly?

Our foundation is non-occlusive and specially formulated to allow significant moisture to reach the skin so that women can perform wudhu while wearing it. Each batch is lab tested for its permeable properties and certified for wudhu compliance.

Has your foundation been tested for water permeability?

Yes. Our products have been tested by Direx Labs specifically for water permeability using specialized permeability analyzers. You can view our lab certification on our Certifications Page.

Is there a difference between halal certification and wudhu-friendly testing?

Wudhu-friendly testing is specifically testing for permeability through a laboratory. This process uses various types of machines and protocols to see how permeable each batch of our formula is.

The Halal Certification is issued after each batch is lab tested and proven to show that it meets the requirements of reaching a certain level of permeability. The halal certification covers both ingredients and functionality (specific for the purposes of making wudhu/ablution).

Can I perform wudhu while wearing your makeup?

Yes. Our foundation and other makeup products are specifically designed to allow you to perform wudhu while wearing them.
